M&A and Capital Markets Insights
Process
During the Winter 2021 M&A and Capital Markets Insights project for Fitness, Health, and Wellness (FHW) companies, my goal was to give a clear overview of lower middle-market (LMM) M&A activity and predict the outlook for 2021. I carried out detailed research on recent mergers and acquisitions and examined industry reports to understand sector trends and the economic factors affecting the industry.
The COVID-19 pandemic had a major effect on LMM deal flow, leading to a focus on the current market landscape and finding growth and investment opportunities. This project allowed me to improve my market research, industry report analysis, and financial performance evaluation skills. I carefully compared financial metrics of similar firms to understand valuation differences, enabling a useful assessment of individual companies against industry standards.
Result
The project resulted in a complete report covering LMM M&A activity, key U.S. economic indicators, FHW sector trends, important M&A deals, and public company data. The report successfully explained the current state and growth potential of the FHW industry, addressing the challenges caused by the pandemic.
The project's success is shown by the positive feedback from stakeholders and the helpful insights generated, which informed investment decisions and strategic planning for clients in the FHW industry. During the project, I learned the value of careful research, critical analysis, and clear communication of findings. To overcome challenges, I adapted research methods and refined the presentation of information for better clarity and coherence.
